Nakshapatta is an editorial platform for Indian handloom sarees and textile heritage — part magazine, part buying guide, part community. We write about Banarasi, Kanjivaram, Chanderi, Ajrakh and more, and we teach you how to identify authentic handloom before you buy. Based in Varanasi, we work close to the loom, not just the internet.
Most saree content is either purely aspirational or trying to sell you something. Nakshapatta is editorial first — we explain what a weave actually is before we ever recommend where to buy it. Our Varanasi base means we write about Banarasi silk from direct access to weavers, not stock photography and secondhand research.
Not yet — and when we do, it'll be clearly separate from our editorial content. Right now, some buying guides include affiliate links to trusted sellers, but we never accept payment to recommend a product. If we think something's overpriced or mislabeled, we'll say so.
